Default 2001 Impala

Two or three years ago I remember reading about a problem the early 2000 Impalas had, but I can't remember all of the details. It had to do with stepping on the brakes when making a turn and feeling a knocking sensation through the steering wheel. This was not the same as the other problem of feeling and hearing a clunk when making a left turn. My 01 Impala had this problem and was taken care of by the dealer. But now my Impala has started doing what I first mentioned, not only when I brake and turn left but also when I'm just driving straight and hit small bumps. It's almost like somethings loose and rattling but without any noise. At the time I read about this problem it was suppose to be a fairly common problem but mine wasn't doing it so I didn't pay much attention to what was said. Can someone that's familiar with the problem refresh my memory?

Thanks, Don
