Red hot brake rotor
Friend of mine got a flat tire and drove it back home they called there dad to come help put on there spare that was also flat. They got a new tire for there wheel and put it on the next day and test drove it and noticed some smoke coming from there tire and that there rotor was red hot. They called me to come take a look at it and i could notice the rotor looked like it had some heat damage. I took it on a test drive and nothing seemed off after the drive the brakes wernt smoking nor red hot. I thought maybe the caliper was sticking so i took the wheel off and the caliper moves freely and the slide pins moved freely the brake line seemed fine the brake pads had some nasty cracks in it from getting hot but everything looked alright i put it back together. And they have been driving it for the past couple days with no problems no smoke or getting hot. Was curious of why the brake pads would stick just once but be fine after that.
it happened on passenger side front wheel. After thinking about it, Im guessing the caliper is just starting to get stuck or the inside of the brake lines starting to deteriorate.thanks for reply.
