Silverado, Sierra & Fullsize Pick-upsThe Silverado & Sierra have been two of the best selling trucks in the US for decades, and is truly proven to be "like a rock".
The front driver side seat with heat, buttons that activate the seat bottom and seat back heat come on by them selves and back on again after you repeatedly turn it off is caused by rainwater getting in when the drivers door window was left open. The armreast controls are poorly weather tight and the electronics corrode very fast. You have to open up the armrest cover and clean the terminals. This has always worked for me.
I have a 2005 Denali and the drivers side heated seat switch has a mind of its own also. After wet weather, it will come on by itself and the heat levels will just start going up and down on their own. It looks like the control lights are dancing.
In my case, I had a bad ground. Under the body just behind the drivers side front wheel, there are two ground wire connections bolted to the body. I removed the bolts, cleaned the contact surfaces and reconnected. No more dancing lights on the heated seat control.
Clean the contact surfaces on these ground connections.
