Default Mirror with temp and compass

Need some info. I just replaced my mirror (06 Silverado WT)with the mirror with the temperature and compass. The compass works is there a module I need to add for the temperature gauge?

Thanks

I thought about buying one and looked at the kit, there should be a probe attached to a cable that needs to be routed out of the vehicle.

Someone else might chime in the to standard location where it attaches to.

What did you pay for your mirror and where did you buy it?

Needs to have a ambiant temp sensor. it should sit just in front of radiator on core support. needs to wired directly to rear view mirror.

Off E Bay, cost was $23.98 with shipping. Looking at other posts on this forum I think the temp sensor is available from Chevy for under $10.00, It attaches to the left side of the radiator shroud. I will call chevy tomorrow and post the results part # ect.

Connecting the mirror and getting the Temp dispay to work is a breeze if you get the ambient temp sensor.
If you want the Electrochromic auto-dimming feature to work then you also need to connect a few more wires (back-up lamp relay wire, Auto Day/Night signal wire etc) to the mirror.
