Default Rear Brakes

I just got a 98 Silverado k1500 extended cab. Totally cool truck. It has a couple of issues. Mostly I need to replace the rear brake shoes. There's some conflicting info on the internet, pull the axles, don't pull the axles. I've done a lot of things, but I never had to pull an axle to remove a brake drum. Anybodyh got something for me? I have been running Ford trucks for many, many years, after running Chevy trucks and cars since high school. The 98 Silverado K1500 I just got is a cool truck, kind of a project but a good truck. I needed a 4x4 that would also cruise on the highway, and the K1500 seems to be pretty much perfect. I'm going to sell Kruzer, my 72 F100 project truck, and I'll miss it, but the Silverado fits my driving patterns so much better. I should be OK.

I was looking for a Dodge 100 club cab from the 1970s for a project but they are almost nonexistant. So I m changing my mind and thinking of a 1976 Cordoba with 360 or 400HP, preferably the 360, bore it out, 4bbl and SuperCam. Stock power that year was 103hp, the Plymouths came with a 1 bbl carb and had a rating at 98hp, bullshhhhhh!

Hey, RacerX. That 360 is a good motor, (sitting here at this very moment watching Horsepwer TV show on that 360 - 440HP, single 4-barrel, roller cam and aluminum heads) but it's a long way from an extended cab D100 to a Cordoba?

you can find a 360 in any full size jeep or dodge in the 80's but if you find a 401 now thats where the money is.

I m torn between a truck and a car. I have 2 trucks now after having full size cars and a station wagon to carry my tools. I bought my Suburban and then a week later the guy who had the Cadillac I wanted reduces his price to where I would have stolen the car. I tried convincing my brother to buy it just so I could mess with it. All a mess man. A guy in Jersey had a Suburban with a 454 but never returned my phone calls. Another 454 was in Memphis(78 Suburban). Another was in Nebraska(same color as the one in Jersey with 454).

If you ever see the movie about drag racer Shirley Mulrooney with Adrienne Barbieau there is the Dodge 200 Crew Cab that I d love to have. Barring that Cordoba from a non rust state is something I d like to pimp out seriously.

And not to knock any other 400s but the Olds Rocket 403 is an awesome block. Chevy and Ford 400s arent much to talk about. Pontiac engines are amazing to me because they are all small Y blocks(301 to 455) rare to find though unless you scrounging raggedy Grand Prixs in the junkyards. I think its odd that a small block Pontiac 455 could move a massive car like a Safari wagon. An Olds 455 sure, but a Pontiac 455? Shucks!
