I have a question on my transmission. I have 45000 on my truck and today I had experienced hard shifting for the first time. I got home and had to add a quart of Trans fluid. Why? Where did it go? Should i be worried?

 

I would personally bring it to a shop to have them do a tranny service and see what they think. I had a check engine light go on and it was "tranny slipping". I had it serviced for around $100 and it took half a day. The light didnt come back on but I only drove it 2 weeks before the motor went.

 

yeah i agree, id have it seviced before it starts malfunctioning, just some fresh fluid and a new filter would help, also some shops can run tranny diagnostics, id have that done too, 45000, sounds like a young tranny and unless you dog it, it shouldnt be acting up, so te computer diagnostics will tell you whats going on with it
