Default 2000 sub is cooking us

At first I noticed that the blender motor was not moving anymore. Got a new one. I then realized that I am getting hot air no matter what position the blend door is in.

what could be causing this? I am pretty sure that the blend door is still there, as it takes a little bit of finger force to move it. Besides; where would it go?
is it correct that it should only move about 40 degrees?

I had to replace a blend door actuator on both my 1994 Suburban and 2005 Yukon.

Maybe temporarily move into the "cold" position and leave the harness/actuator uninstalled.

I think the repair will be $300-$400 at a shop.

only with all ***** in auto. And that means full power hot air. I guess the computer thinks it is adjusting for cold air?

yeah I have done that. I now realized that I am getting hot air in both positions! The door does not seem to be able to move as far as the blend motor is supposed to. It wilø only move about 30-4 degrees rotation. While the actuator has a range of about 160 degrees.

Guess I will have to take the whole thing apart now…

This happened on our 2005 Yukon a couple of years ago, and sometimes the blower fan would not operate at all. I decided to let independent shop have a go at it, a shop I've used and trusted for 15 years. Mechanic said not too uncommon, that blower resistor and blower motor can be intermittent and take out the other. I went with his experience, and replacing both fixed that. Yes, cost was about $400, factory parts.

Is your A/C compressor magnetic clutch engaging?

Not sure on your year but my '11 has several temp. sensors in the system to monitor / control HVAC temps in the auto system. A scan of them may turn up a bad sensor if the a/c has a full charge and putting out full cooling.
