Wait till you get to the post about the AFM or Active Fuel Management and when it fails you have to have the upper engine rebuilt....

lburghoss,

Can you please private message me your name, VIN, mileage, address, phone number, and the name of your GM dealership so we can address this concern? Look forward to hearing from you.

The fact of the matter is...unless your vehicle is still under the Bumper to Bumper warranty, you can go pound sand...

If you have a good dealership they will take care of you no matter if you are still under warranty. Most dealers know that taking care of the customers keeps them in business even if Chevy and GM don't. In my opinion the part cant cost more than $50 to make and the labor is the only real cost. But with all the practice the mechanics are getting fixing this problem they should be able to do it with their eyes closed

I need to add my name to the list of disgusted GM owners. I bought a 2009 GMC Sierra SLT 2 months ago with 46,000 miles on it, and within the past week I have noticed 2 different cracks that have developed on my dash. The first crack is above the gauge cluster hump and the other crack is in front of the passenger side airbag. I was search the internet for answers to this problem and luckily I found this forum. I have called 2 different dealerships and then most I can get out of them is that my truck is out of warranty so I’m out of luck.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
This thread has tons of good info. And I will be calling GM this evening after work to get a claim started and get this problem fixed.<o></o>
<o> </o>
It is pretty discouraging to read through this forum and see how poorly GM has handled this problem. This is the first GM vehicle I have owned (owned Toyotas prior to this truck) and I love my Sierra, but if GM is going to produce a sub pair product and then not stand behind it then this will be my first and last GM vehicle. <o></o>

Default I will never buy a chevrolet again

You can add me to the list of angered customers. I have owned my Tahoe since it was new. We have take our Tahoe down to the dealership and had Customer service Reps from GM take pictures. I have the common crack near the airbag and have the instrument cluster crack as well. GM told us basically to pound sand. They wouldnt help us. DO NOT BUY A CHEVROLET. This has been an ongoing year long battle and they could care less. I havent even gotten the 500$ 50/50 agreement offered to me like everyone else.( i havent even complained about the a/c buttons losing the rubberized coating or the constantly shaking drivers side mirror)At this point I will never buy another GM product because the customer service is HORRIBLE, not because their vehicles arent nice. But if you make mistakes at least hold up your end of the bargain. MAKE IT RIGHT GM!!

My pickup a Dodge Quad cab 3/4 with a Cummins Diesel on the other hand has been a PLEASURE to deal with when something has come up. I wish GM would take a page out of Dodges book with customer service.

I don't blame you for being angry,, but your dealer that you bought the Tahoe from should fix this without any questions. Its not like it will break the bank to do that. The dealer is the one that suffers the most from this fiasco by GM. GM has already made their money on this vehicle. The problem is the those running the company only look at the cost fix this not the real cost of lost customers. They have lost touch with reality.
