I talked to Chevy customer service and was told my District Specialist would be back with me within 24-48 hours. Still haven't heard back from them. Imagine that...

I had the same result from both the dealer and the district specialist. Why does GM do this for one customer and not ALL??

I'd like an answer.. Why not offer the $200 repair to ALL and maintain customers?

One other thing.. When I first reported this back in April 2011 I owned (4) GM vehicles.. (2) corvettes, my LTZ suburban and Impala SS. Due to how GM and how the local dealer have handled this I have sold Everything but my Suburban. If GM does nothing to fix this, that too will go and GM will not get my business again.

Cfilly,

I am sorry your District Specialist has not contacted you yet. If you private message me your case number I will be sure to check into your case and let them know your concern.

Default Still Upset

I own 3 Chevrolets right now. 2007 Tahoe, 2012 Suburban, and a 2011 Corvette. I have owned Chevy's since I was able to drive 15 years ago. I am really starting to get upset about this whole situation. Why can't they just fix it? I would happily pay $200 to get it replaced. Not only that but my steering wheel is peeling, my door handles are peeling, and the center caps on my rims are fading...what to do, what to do?

Right there with you, i would pay the $200.. I have the exact SAME issues with my suburban, just like everyone else on this thread and yet it like a lottery.. Some get the option to have the issue taken care of an others get ignored, why is that? Guess our business is not worth keeping

So the District Specialist called me and we talked about the problem. She said that each case is handled differently, and alot of it depends on the relationship you have with the dealer. The service manager then called me about 45 minutes after the District Specialist called. I have an appointment next Wednesday April 24th. I will report back with what happens.

If they botch this I might be looking to a different brand for my next purchase, as bad as it pains me to say that...

Right or wrong, I've maintained that if you establish a relationship w/ your service manager, it'll pay off in the future. Although I usually change the oil in our Tahoes, I periodically have the dealer change it just so I can see them for something besides warranty work. It has certainly paid off for me. Maybe I just lucked out and got a good dealer service dept. But they truly seem to care. I know that there are bad dealers out there tho. That's unfortunate, especially if you're in an area that only has one.
