2008 Suburban 1500 sway bar mount tore out of the frame
Hi, How did you handle this? I have the same issue with my 2007 Avalanche.
Me too! On my 2007 Avalanche. I just replaced the upper control arm. Took it for a spin and there was a banging on the OTHER side now. Sway bar tore loose from the frame!
I got a 3X5 piece of 3/16 plate steel and bent it the long way to form about a 5/8" lip. I then used the sway are bracket to drill the 2 holes in it and welded 2 10X1.5mm nuts on the inside of the plate. I then had a welder attach it in the right position, using the other side as a reference. It came out great and is as solid as could be. Hope this helps.
do you have any pictures of the fix that you did? I am also wondering if you spoke with gm about this and what they said?
I called a local guy that has done some bodywork for me in the past. I had forgotten that he worked at a Cadillac dealer. He said he's repaired quite a few Escalades with this problem. He says GM makes a repair plate that needs welded in. He's going to get me the P/Ns, prices and do the work. I'll post back with more info once the work is done. He's really busy and thus not the most responsive so it could be a week or two. I won't forget tho

What really drives me nuts is my truck is an 08 with 75k miles on it. The truck is a baby. either way its paid off and I just want to fix it.
The mount with the rubber bushing tore out of the frame any idea for a fix. I thought weld a plate with nuts welded on top maybe.
I am also wondering if everyone is having issues with the passenger side? the drivers side of my car appears to be normal the passanger side is very damaged.
