Don't mean to change the subject, but does anyone know where the XM tuner is located on the trucks? I know on the SUV's its behind the glovebox, but what about the trucks? My Sierra didn't come with XM and I'm hoping that since its an SLT it will be at least prewired. I looked behind the glove box, and not only are there no wires for the tuner, there is nowhere to even mount one. A search turned up one result stating that it needs to be accessed from under the glove box by removing the cover around the blower motor, but that didnt help. The entire space behind the dash is consumed by the HVAC system. Where is the tuner supposed to be on a truck? I sure hope my truck is prewired, else I might not even bother with the XM. I really can't believe the highest trim model of this truck (excluding Denali of course) didn't come with XM standard.
***EDIT***
Nevermind, this video confirms that it is behind the glove box. I guess my almost fully loaded $40k truck isn't prewired

Well, I just finished installing my Navi, and i guess I was really lucky. I didn't have to do anything. It wasn't theftlocked, chimes work, volume is good, etc. Only thing i noticed is FM reception is really poor. I double-checked the connect and its on good. Also I lucked out that the rearview camera is enabled also, even though I don't have a factory one, I already bought a $20 license-plate one to connect to the RCA jack on the VSS harness i purchased off ebay. I don't know for a fact that its a 2009 unit, but the seller claims that it supports NavTraffic, and it was brand new. My next project is to get the XM receiver and related parts, and figure out how to wire it up since my truck didn't come with it from the factory.

Slight shift in the topic:
I have a 2008 White diamond LTZ with all the bells and whistles. (i.e. Nav, XM, rearview cam, etc) What it doesn't have is Bluetooth and i'm not sure if it has the xmtraffic. I have two questions. 1. How do i tell if it has the xmtraffic. 2. what exactly do i need to do to get bluetooth. Do i have to buy a new unit or is there a gm module... Any help would be appreciated.
I have seen the links for several aftermarket products. However, i would prefer to go with gm equip if possible. This is a sweet truck and i am not crazy about putting aftermarket things on it...
Thanks in advance for all your help...

If you don't see "Traffic" in the top right-hand corner of your navigation unit near the clock, then you don't have NavTraffic. You either need the new XM module, or a new navigation headunit, or both which was the case for me. It's clearly marked in this thread which configuration works, and with which part numbers. It has been confirmed by at least two of us.
As far as Bluetooth, again right in this same thread. Start at the beginning of this thread and read through the entire thing. Here's one of my posts: https://chevroletforum.com/forum/sho...1&postcount=58
The part number for the Onstar Gen 8.1 (w/Bluetooth) module is: 20787642
Bluetooth Antenna is: 15938939
The answers to the questions that you're asking are right here in this thread, just a few posts up.

I appreciate your rapid response and i did miss the specific post i needed for the navtraffic. Thanks it was very helpful and i now have specific direction on that one.
With regard to the BT VCIM. I did read through all the posts and specifically saw the aforementioned referenced post. However, that spurs some additional questions for me that i did not see answers for.
1. how much did the dealership charge you for the new Onstar module?
2. how did you convince them to order it for you as i have been told numerous times that unless mine were stolen, damaged, or not functioning that it could not be changed/upgraded?
3. The part number you have is different from what i have seen in other posts.
i.e. you say the part # is 20787642 is that for the Onstar/ VCIM module? because in another thread they list four part numbers for the module, two of which are bluetooth and two aren't. link below:

While i appreciate your help, i feel that i am just more confused now than i was before i started this endeavor to just add bluetooth to my 08 hoe...
If you want custom cabinets or a nice period table, I'm your guy... However, not so much as it relates to automotive electronics.
I appreciate you help and patience..
