2009 Navigation Unit w/XM NavTraffic GM Part Number
Same as you, just trying to add factory bluetooth and don't care about onstar (don't have it activated now). Its a 2007 GMC Sierra SLT. I've added factory nav already, just looking to add the bluetooth and eventually XM navtraffic.
All I did was swap my 07 Sierra Denali OnStar module for the one I bought from a guy on gm-trucks.com. It came out of a 09 Silverado. As soon as I plugged everything in I tested it and could pair my Blackberry to the new module. I tried to get OnStar to swap the STID for over their connection but they said their system would not let them until the dealer ran it through their program.
I'm going to swap my non DVD Nav for a DVD Nav soon so I will get the dealer to fix OnStar when they remove Theftlock from my new Nav unit.

I just did the swap yesterday, and like RayRay, I was up instantly using the Bluetooth. It is SO nice having the factory Bluetooth! (The Bluefusion was cool, but cumbersome at best. You always had to readjust the volume control before making or taking a phone call, and it was a bit buggy.)
Right now I have the red light on the OnStar since it needs to be programmed. I'm heading to the dealership on Monday to have it programmed, then I'm going to call up OnStar just so they have the right VIN in their system, even though I don't plan to sign up for the service.
BTW, and maybe this is because I've taken my navigation unit out a million times, it only took about 10 minutes to do the OnStar swap. Just pull the power port and HAVC off (no need to pull the navi), and pull the module out. All good!

Totally understand that. My question is, at any point where you using 25797978 head unit with the XM module that has NavTraffic. They reason I ask is because I have that combo now and it doesn't work, no NavTraffic. I had the 20807044 head unit and the NavTraffic worked fine, but I didn't have my chimes or RSE being recognized. Someone was saying that they changed the amp in the 2009 and it won't work with 2007. But you have a 2007 and it's working! I just don't get it. I wish there was a way to see firmware versions of the head-unit software.
