Welcome to the forum,
The 3rd post in this thread explains where to find the sensor, I believe the only programming needed is for the module not the sensor..

2011 silverado 1500

my light came on and wondering what the problem is and is it easy to fix. Checked the plug under the drivers seat and doesn't seam to be loose.

"service airbag"

Hit a deer, but not hard enought to deploy airbag. I got the famous message.... Do I really need to purchase a new controller and sensor even though it didnt deploy? Dash is yelling "SERVICE AIRBAG".... (my front bumper and grill didnt survive, and the deer caved in my hood.)
help me, im not rich.....
