Body Lift for '07
I havent not done a body lift, but i too was looking into one point. I know BDS-suspension has a 2" body lift and PerformanceAccessories has a 3" body lift. The one thing that really turned me away from the body lift was the fact that it said you could no longer use your trailer hitch (and thats not going to happen). It was on the BDS website, but i would look into that more. I think the main problem with the body lift will be the cosmetics of your rear bumper since the trailer hitch is in the middle of it. But i was thinking yesterday of a method in order to solve this cosmetic problem. I assume the kit comes with rolocation brackets for the hitch to go up two inches also, so i figured if you would not put them on and leave your trailer hitch where it is, you could just put one of those covers over the hitch area, and trim a little of the plastic, that might be a solution.

the kit offers all options; 4wd or 2wd. with or w/o autoride. and if you do some minor cutting, you can fit 35" tires.

Yeah I was looking at the rancho lift as well since my tahoe is 2wd but the price tag was a little high and then new tires on top of that $$$. Thats why I was originally looking at maybe a body lift to beef my ride up a little but thanks to GMz71 I was reminded of the fact that thetrailer hitch as well as the tow hooks being tied in with my rear and front bumpersand Icould lose functionality of those pieces. ThereforeI am lookinginto suspension lifts instead of a body lift.
How much of a lift are you looking for / How big of tires do you want?
I installed the Rancho Quick Lift leveling kit & was able to fit 285/50R22 Nitto's. It's snug but doesn't really rub unluss you're articulated & turning really tight.
4Wheel Parts sells the kit for about $400.00 & I installed it myself (had to take the struts to a shop to gave the springs swapped).

It stiffened it up a bit, but to tell you the truth I like it better now. When I first drove the new Tahoe vs. my old ones it felt really top heavy to me. The nice thing about the Rancho is it's adjustability. For instance when I tow our boat I like to really soften it up. Since I doan't have load leveling or air bags yet I feel like the softer / less choppy setting gives a better feel to the road when the weight is shifted back. Around town I like to put it on about the middle setting and the road conditiona are a bit more noticeable but it handles and corners with a lot less body roll. Snomon has added Hotchkis sways to his LT after installing a different brand of leveling kit and said his now handles awesome.
I'll tell you that you definately will need to go with a 4" lift if you want to use anything bigger than a 33"x11" tire. I just about went with the 33 / 12.5 Toyo M/T's and it would have been a big mistake! The rubbing I have now is minimal but just enough that any bigger would have lead to a lot of cutting & chopping.

Yeah I wanted to fit 33's but the fact that you can fit 285's with the leveling kit is still impressive and alot less expensive. And I guess another perk is that you don't have the rough ride like you would with a suspension lift. Anyways, thanks for the input its much appreciated.
Im going the leveling kit, rear spacer, and sway bar route. Very cheap, and you can clear 33's. Heres a link to a leveling kit that i just bought for only $86. I was quite happy with the price, but im yet to install them. But I spoke with a guy on full size chevy and said they were well built and easy to install.
