It drives me crazy. I use my mirrors for everything and at night it's impossible to see through that. Can it be done?

 

On the inside rear view mirror there is a botton (with a green light next to it) on the far left side, if you press this button the light will go out and both the inside and outside auto-dimming (electrochromic) feature will be disabled.

 

Damn, I thought that light was telling me the onstar was active. Thanks!

I love the darkening mirror! I wish the passenger side did (it does on my friends 2008 Grand Cherokee)

I'd actually like to have the sides and rear dimmed all the time... I always left the rear on 95 in the 'dim' position and never had any issues... I can see fine w/it...

Ferarri has electrochromatic glass in their new sunroof. you can litterally dim the sun anywhere from black to 100% see through! neat!

 

So what happened id when you hit that button that it turns off the direction and temperature off? The light remained on and the temp/direction light went off.
