konasmrz,
Ok, the pink wire has me a bit stumped. Where do the reverse light wires go run from the brake light itself? Do they run somewhere up around the dash that may be easier to splice into? Anyone know? What color wire am I looking for?

I attached the pink wire at the right tail lamplight housing (reverse light has 3 wires, 2 black & 1 either blue or green - I don't remember exactly which color but you want to attach to the colored one). The actual wiring harnesses drop down from the lights and run under the body! Pull off a tail light and take a look, only 2 screws holding it on and 2 pop clips.

PM me if you want to call me to discuss in greater detail......

Ps. You have to run the video cable anyway back to the hatch so I just spiral wrapped the reverse sense and video cable together & split off the reverse sense where the video cable runs up the right body pillar at the hatch - then route the pink wire through the tape covered hole (once you pull your light off you'll understand what this is) to the reverse light.

Thanks, I think I can get this done, but i probably will need some help along the way.

I just ordered the camera today from ebay! So i should have it early next week. So i wont be doing the install until sometime next week or possibly next weekend!

If you dont mind I wouldgladly take your phone number. This way if I get stumped in the middle of the install I can call for some clarification! PM your number if you dont mind. Thanks again for everything!

One other thing. Did you buy wire loom, or what did you use to "spiral wrap" the wires? Where from?

Spiral wrap, convolute tubing, whatever you want to use. Just something to keep the video cable from getting smashed. Pretty much any auto supply store (Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.) carries the stuff. You can see the spiral wrap in one of the pics posted....

Ps. PM sent

Most electronics stores carry some kind of wire loom as does MCM online.

How the hell did you get that camera wire through that tiny hole you drilled in the back of the vehicle?
