Default Dealership Woes

Have been steaming about the raw deal I got from the dealership in Herculaneum, Mo. Though it's been a while I'm still ticked off at them. Here they are:

1. 4 burnt out lights, they wanted 485$ to replace them

2. Volume control on steering lights burnt out, they wanted 800$ to fix. (Come to find out later they do not light up at night)

3. Front end out of alignment.
They wanted 140$.

4. Passenger front wheel bearings shot. They fixed that for free but they had to, was told it should not have passed inspection given just 20 day prior.

5. Steering "clunk" noise after 2 weeks. They said it was the steering box and charged me over 500$ to replace, did 60/40 split on this one and it did not fix the "clunk". It was the intermediate drive shaft that needed greasing, drove it for 8 months with that "clunk". Brought it back 3 more times and got "could not duplicate" story. So many things wrong it was really hard to enjoy the purchase.

5. Finally got a tec to hear the clunk on the 4th visit, went to manager to try and get comped for the gearbox that did not need replacing. Got dead stare from service manager, he insisted we take a drive so he could hear the noise, it did not "clunk" on the drive. Now, this is the part that I'm still confused about. He said that I would need to leave it there until he could duplicate the noise even after a so called "certified mechanic" has already heard the noise, I'm still stumped on this one. I paid to have the shaft lubed (200$), called Chevy assistance next day, got 150$ to be used only at there dealership, well, long story long, avoid the place if you can, there's nothing I can get done there for 150$ that I need right now. I've taken my truck to my mec and I'm enjoying the Tahoe now that's it's sorted.

I know I was long winded in my spill about the dealership in Herculaneum, Mo. Had to look up what CPO meant. Was told was certified, were would that be in the mass of paperwork I signed? It's a bare boned 2007.

No I did not get a 172 point inspection sheet, was told that that inspection was for vehicles with over 80.000 miles.

Looked at all the paperwork, did not find anything saying certified. The wife and I remember asking that question and was satisfied with the answer. I now believe we did not get a certified auto from Sapaugh Chevrolet Certified Used Cars and Trucks in Herculaneum, Mo, The huge banner over the door that said just that might have had something to do with that, the one thing I am positive about is we did ask that question and were satisfied with the a answer and that the car we were purchasing was "Certified" I'm going to do some research on the whole deal now. I might have to pass it to our lawyer to look at. I hope I find nothing more that the cert thing. Thanks you for the info. Will get back to you with anything I find out.

I'm sure it was certified to make them money.

With GM recalling more cars this year, than they've made in the past 7... Why not look at Toyota or Ford?

My favorite car company just announced a huge warranty improvement. (tesla).

Extending the warranty on some cars because they killed a few people... Lol could you imagine GM doing that?! Well, they did the second part...
