Drivers Seat Dead in the water.
K, So about a year ago, My 2005 Suburban 2500 4X4 w/8.1 had a lil hiccup. Drivers side seat lost power and wouldn't move. Was stuck "ALL THE WAY FORWARD" And then miraculously, outta the blue, I tapped the toggle one day and it maneuvered flawlessly. Cut to last night.......I accidently hit the "seat memory 1" button, and bam! Seat scooted forward, (all the way forward), and wha-lah.......stuck again. All fuses good. I thought it might be the motor, but there are several...... all dead. Even the lumbar, .....whole seat dead. Any ideas????? Is there a common thing with these seats being ..."(all the way forward)"???
Yeah, that was one of my initial thoughts, (like a starter on an old International Scout I once had, you had to tap it with a hammer now and again) 😏 But on this thing, the WHOLE SEAT is dead. None of the motors are doing "anything"....Seat won't slide, back won't recline, lumbar stuff won't adjust ........Nuthin.
There inlies my issue. Which switch? Each seat function has its own switch ....... All dead. But the fuses are all good, and the main power going "into" the seat is good. I just don't know where the power is going after getting in. That's why im here ..... Seeking any knowledge on a possible "common issue" prior to simply taking the whole seat apart and poking around lookin for a short. This is the 2nd time this happened, both while the seat was all the way forward. Starting to think something of the electric nature is simply caught up in the track.
Not being too lazy to do that first, it's just that im one of them disabled Marine Vets, (helo crash), and my head, back, heart, lungs, and knees don't dig on a bunch of crawling and bending. So I'm here hoping to find that others have had this issue and searching for an easy fix
Not lookin like that's gonna be my route though.
