Installing a tow brake in 1999 3/4 suburban
I have the 99 3/4 454 suburban with tow package. However I need to install a tow brake unit so I can pull my car trailer. There isn't any wiring harness under the dash I can just plug into? (Like my 03 Durango) or what are the tricks to install it in this vehicle?

he means brake controler !is the burb a old body style ?if not there may be a plug in for a harness down near the emergency brake peddel on the fire wall under a plastic cover .you will need a harness plug adaptor for the controler .

On the older bodystyle trucks/suv's there is no quick harness available. You will need to basically run all the wiring like the video shows.
However you might want to check at the firewall on the driverside near the main harness that leads towards the rear of the vehicle for a Orange and a Blue wire. They are usually easy to spot. These feed all the way to the rear of the vehicle and exit the main harness near the bumper. These are designed for the electric brake feed and power feed for the 6/7way plug.
The 7way plug the video shows will be the easiest to install, but if your a gamer you could use an empty 6/7way and hardwire everything. Just make sure you fuse everything like in the video!!!

This is my all time favorite brake controller.
Like mentioned above, look for the box on the firewall to the left of the brake pedal. I believe the 'burbs didn't start getting that setup till 2000, so you will likely have to wire it in. Not a hard task if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. If you're not, take it to a trailer shop. They've more than likely wired up one or two like yours.
