Default Oil change..

Well, I did my first oil change on my tahoe. It has 4400 miles and it still had 31% oil remaining. I've had it for about 6 months now so I decided to change the oil to put mobil 1. When I got under the truck I noticed that there was a drop of oil where the transmision meets the engine. There seems to be a little hole where the tranny meets the engine, it seems like its supposed to be there. Has anybody else noticed this?? I'll keep an eye on it to see if oil shows up again. Thanks..

Did my first at about 2K and didn't notice any leaks, but can't say I looked specifically where you are referring to. Since put in Mobil 1 also, will be awhile before I crawl under again unless I see something.

Well the torque conver is in the bell housing for the trans. There should be a small acess hole cover at the bottom that looks like a smashed LARGE smashed rivet.

I think that hole you're referring is to nothing more than a weep hole for a) water that has intruded after passing thru high water or b)for use as a telltale thatoil that is escaping thru the rear bearing. If it's ATF or motor oil, it shouldn't be leaking at 4400 miles. I'd get it looked at.

BTW, by saying that you had 31% oil remaining, are youindicatingthat only a quart and a half of oil was in the pan after draining it?
