Looks like someone dropped or sat something on top of it. The bumper flexed too far and the paint couldn't flex far enough without cracking. You may have to deal with it yourself. Be prepared to dicuss this one.

I agree. It looks like impact damage. Did you have any large hail?

we dont get too much hail here just lot of rain... when i ran my fingers through it first time it was smooth you could see that crack was under neath clear coat now when i ran my fingers i could feel little bump i try to take to dealer but they kept told me take it where i bought the vehicle from its been three weeks now. i m worried they would probably tell me that i drop something on it. and it will not be covered under warranty... i m suppose togo to the dealerwhere i purchase thehoe in a day or two. well see what happens..

I wonder if you are the only driver…????

Ya’ see, one day I was admiring two small chips of paint missing from the rear door on my X5… I told my wife how odd I thought it was that my door had the paint chipped so high up - what could have possibly hit the door at that height…?

Well… I later learned that she didn’t fully clear a gate while pulling into a horse pasture months ago

I had another drive just touch my bumper with HIS truck and did the same look as the star cracks on my bumper.... He wrote me a check for $ 400 dollars to remove the bumper and the back up eyes and repaint it... some thing did the damage to your bumper as the others say.. impact damage..... that is so sad to have on a new tahoe.. Mine did the exact same thing on the back of the bumper in teh exact shape of yours. I haven't had the dealership look at it but Im going to assume it will be covered by warranty.
