Passing Inspection?
Ok so I took my car to get inspected this past weekend and everyplace I went to refused to even look at it because I have blacked out tail lights and my tint is "questionable".
So does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about passing my inspection (hopefully without having to buy new tail lights)? Or does anyone have any tail lights I can buy for cheap?
Also I know my tint is technically illegal but does the inspector really pay that close of attention?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.........

In belgium they measure the amount of light that goes through your tint. You should move here with your car.
Tail lights have to give a certain amount of light. If your lights do that, they cant refuse you. BEsides, they cant refuse you anyway. They have to check your car and , if necessary put down on paper what the problems are. Thats basically what they are for...

I think they are saving you some money for the inspection fee.
I don't know where you're located, but every state is a little different with restrictions. I would remove the tint, they always check that, and barrow someone's tail lights.

In MD you can have your tint scanned at the MVA anything below lighter than 35% is legal. They then give you a print out to take to the inspector. Rolling the windows down probably will not work because they are supposed to check if they work ( I think). As far as the tail lights I do not think they will ever pass. You could remove the tint stuff if it is spayed on with lacquer thinner ( maybe) then re spray them.
Yeah at this point I'm thinking I might as well buy a set of tail lights from a salvage yard that way I have them for my yearly inspection and just save myself some trouble.
Also, I live in TX so my front windows have to be 20% and right now they were scanned or tested at 16%. So after I buy new tail lights I am going to pray that they don't actually test my windows and maybe then I will pass.

Typically for the window tint they look for the appliers decal, when you have your windows tinted the place that does it will put a small decal under the tint on the front windows, this is supposed to be the signal that the tint is legal otherwise the tinter will not put their name on it if it is not legal (so I have heard) they will still take your money to tint them illegally thou but then you take the chance.
