Default Replaced the front blower resistor twice,

figured i had a fan drawing too many amps, replaced that along with a new resistor...

1 week later, blew the resistor again....

Thats 3.

Any suggestions? Hate to take it to the dealer and get hosed, but this is getting tiresome.

Welcome to the forum. What year and model?

Not sure how you can draw enuf current to burn out the resistor w/o blowing the fuse. Are you sure they gave you the correct resistor? Does the fan come on before the resistor blows?

Default 2003 Suburban 1500 4wd front and back a/c control

Initially the OEM res blew (after 7 years!). Replaced it with aftermarket, worked fine for about 3 weeks then stopped (no speed worked). Replaced the res again and it worked for about 2 weeks then stopped (no speed worked). Decided my blower fan might be drawing too many amps so replaced that and new res. Worked fine for about a week, now all I have is high speed (5). There were 2 types of res blocks, mine is the 4 hole which they gave me. The other hole layout does not mate up.

I'm thinking I've got a bad connector or harness or switch. Not sure I can troubleshoot that or even replace it myself if bad.

I think you should always have hi spd as that is direct 12V to fan. Might try getting on from the dealer parts dept and/or ask a tech if they have seen this type of behavior before.
