if you have a 5.7L 1500 it should be a 4l60e

I know which tranny it is....but what vehicle model fits on a '97.....(.i.e.'95,'96,'98',99 etc)

prolly 96-99, at least for the tahoe.... those are the 5.7l vortec years

4l60e is in s10 blazers, full size trucks, tahoes, burbs. 96-99

ok Gurus!!!

Can someone tell me what is the difference between the 4l60 and the 4l60e

I have a guy with a 97 tahoe that was wrecked and I wanna get the tranny from him but he has the 4l60 in it.....will it work for me in my 97 suburban?

the 4l60 is basically a 700r4, a fluid pressure shifted trans. the 4l60e is electronic shifted. a 97 will have the 4l60e.

I figured the 97 tahoe should have the same tranny as th 97 suburban, but this guy is telling me the tail piece is what makes the difference(being shorter on the taho) and it wouldnt work on my suburban. I'm just really trying to make sure it will work on my suburban

the suburban may have a 4l80e instead of the 4l60e, which is a bit longer.
