The fix for this is bulletin 07-01-38-010 and it is the reprogramming of the ECM...........

Good luck to all that have this issue....

I had this update performed at the dealership this morning. They installed the J6354 update. Just to confirm, is that the same one theyinstalled on your Tahoe?

AZSCTACO,yourvideo sparked a lot of interest at the dealership. It seems they've been getting lots of complaints about this noise from customers, but no onehad ever actually heard it; never able to duplicate it in the shop. Thanks again.

My 2007 Tahoe has been doing this for several months, maybe even a year now. Only on hot days when I've run the AC really hard and left it in the ON position when I turned the vehicle off. Scared the crap out of me the first time I hear it.

Likewise, the dealership couldn't recreate. I'll be bringing my Hoe to the dealership tomorrow morning and referencing this ECM update bulletin. Great work AZSCTACO.

Default Thanks AZSCTACO

I had this problem and thought it might be the starter staying engaged, fan hitting shroud, etc. Finally turned of a/c during one random episode and it quit, so started searching and found this forum. AZSCTACO video confirmed same Jackhammer sound so took to dealer with copy of TSB (got TSB from Chilton's database via my local library online). Took a copy of TSB and video (converted to AVI via zamzar.com from AZSCTACO link and had AVI file on laptop) to dealer - no hassle, and best of all they didn't need to keep the truck to try to confirm.

Thanks again to AZSCTACO and all posts on this thread!

Is there a way to check this at home?
