Assembled from a few derelict trucks, ‘Squared’ 1981 K10 comes with a rare Duramax LBZ swap under the hood.

We’re here live at SEMA 2018 in Las Vegas, where the only things better than all of the comps we’ve picked up so far are all of the amazing Chevy truck and SUV builds from OEMs and the aftermarket alike.

And here’s a build from Logan, Utah-based HS Customs that certainly got our attention: a 1981 K10 dubbed ‘Squared.’

Behind this grill is a rare Duramax LBZ swap. The 6.6-liter turbo diesel V8 was used in the Silverado and Kodiak for between 2006 and mid-2007, when it was replaced with the Duramax LMM due to tighter emissions standards. Unmodified, the LBZ puts out 360 horses and 650 lb-ft of torque.

On the inside, the K10 looks as much as it did when it first left the showroom nearly four decades ago. There’s a fresh set of gauges from Dakota Digital in the dash, and the seats are done in burnt bourbon leather from Hydes Leather.

Holding down the corners are a custom set of EVOD Industries wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country tires. EVOD also made the custom ‘Squared’ badges and hubcaps, a cool touch to this amazing K10.

From a few derelict trucks and lots of cool parts, this K10 emerged to blow everyone’s minds at SEMA 2018, ours included.
