Leaky 2017 Ford F-450 at the heart of the lawsuit should make Chevy owners feel glad their Silverados are built like a rock.

Sure, sure. Ford currently has the best-selling vehicle in North America, but we all know that doesn’t always mean it’s the best vehicle around. Our Silverados, our Colorados, our Suburbans, all are much better options than whatever the Blue Oval is shilling out these days.

And this story from Columbus, Ohio ABC affiliate WSYX-TV is exactlyy why we know better than to mess with vehicles that require to be Fixed Or Repaired Daily: Licking County, Ohio resident John Clancy is suing Ford for selling him a lemon, in the form of a 2017 F-450.

Clancy’s issues were first reported by WSYX in February, when he first visited the dealership’s service bay due to a “severe and unsafe water leak” in a truck he bought to help with his classic car business. In the six months since the troubles began, the truck’s “five different sources of the leak” haven’t gone away following to more trips to the bay. The dealership then asked Clancy to tow the rolling paperweight away from the premises.

Because of the ongoing issue, Clancy has no other recourse than suing Ford. “[The lawyers] said I could could be waiting a very long time for a potential outcome; they’ve prepared me for up to a two year wait,” Clancy told WSYX. He adds that he wants “some time of reconciliation” with the Blue Oval, who’ve so far agreed to buy back the truck.

We might have a suggestion for Clancy: come over to the land of bow ties and Bob Seger. Chevy’s got a Silverado 3500HD that could do plenty of work without breaking a sweat or leaking like the Titanic, and bests anything from Ford as far as fuel economy goes, too.
