2023 Colorado AUX power questions
New 2023 Colorado owner here, 4 days now; have not found an answer so far.
To get 12 volt power into the cab, what's the best way to do it?
It looks to me that buying the Accessory Power Distribution Box is the way Chevy wants you to do it, however, the $595* price is a bit hard to swallow.
If I do go this route, do I also need the control switches as well? (The ones that are dash mounted)
I'm looking to power a Ham Radio (25amps max), a dash camera, and radar detector, will the Distribution Box handle the load? (The whole mess will run on a 25amp circuit)
In my jeep, i just ran everything back to a central Distribution Box then used relays for every circuit. Individual switches are used to control the relays and everything is on separate fuses. Different fuses for control and power.
It runs 2 Ham Radios, an antenna switch box, back up lights, 4 over head lights, and a back up cameras that feeds into my GPS
Any input is welcome, thanks

I don't own a Colorado so YMMV...
25A is probably too much to piggy back on to existing cabin wiring, however it's probably fine to add another circuit to the auxiliary stud on the underhood fuse block. Fuse it and install a new distro panel inside the cabin to hook up your accessories. If you want add protection so you don't accidentally run down the battery, put a relay on the main run and energize it with 12V from an ignition switched accessory (such as HVAC).
