Axle shaft
2014 express 1500, the right rear axle bearing exploded. It wore a decent groove in the axle shaft, but I’m stuck since gm discontinued that shaft for the non- limited slip differential. Has anyone ever done a conversion to the limited slip? Right now it looks like I’m stuck buying the whole assembly from a salvage yard, and if I’m spending $1200 anyway I wondered if just getting the one they still make parts for might be an easier option going forward. Thanks for help/opinions you can offer!
How about calling up one of the Hot rod or off-road shops that make custom axles and have them make just one for you? It has to be a lot cheaper than $1,200.

I know it’s a 10 bolt cover, just put is back together with new bearing and seal as a bandaid until I find a better solution. It’s my work van, need everything in it. I have a complete differential used ready to ship fo 1200, just looking for a cheaper solution.
