My van starter wont turn, but I have full battery power and car was running until I turn it off. I noticed a bunch of wires are disconnect, do you guys know what these wires are. They are in a bundle near the front bulkhead and a connector. See pictures
Try tapping the starter with a hammer (lightly)while someone holds key in start position. If it goes, replace the starter. What vehicle, year etc? Original starter still??
My van is 2010 3500 Savana, I started it and the engine run..took it for a 20 miles ride and stop and turn of and when I crank..just silent..all other electrical system is ok. Anyone has a similar van and can see what those wires suppose to go. I suspect they came lose and cause the starting issue

You can hot wire the starter to test it out. Just give it 12v to where the smaller of the two power lines connect. The fat line is the power and the smaller line signals it to run when 12v is applied.
So what happened is that I make a copy of the original key and try that to start I didn't know that the original key has some kind of transponder that would allow the van starter to turn but if you make a copy you can still open the door and turn on ACC but the starter wont engage. My original key look very simple and flat and has no key fob but look like the transponder chip is embedded into the key handle. So now the van is starting just fine
