Default 99 silverado Ignition?

Occasionally when turning the ignition off, the truck will go completely dead...no elctrical capabilities at all. If I turn the key to the on position there is no immediate electrical response butthe truck will eventuallycome back to life.Subsequently, it ishard to startbut will eventually start and run again. Has to be ignition related right? Ignition switch perhaps? Thanks for yourideas.

That is a good possibility. Check your battery cables, starter wires, and alternator wires too.

What happens if you wiggle the key in the switch?

Wiggling the key in the ignition does not seem to have any effect.
The truck's electrical went dead againyesterday. There isa #10 blade fuse thatburned out....it is located on a fusable link from the battery. I replaced it;and it sparked and burned out again almost immediately.

Not sure why there would be a 10 amp fuse on a wire with a fusible link ... but if it's blowing there either is a heck of a current draw ( more than 10 amps ) or there is a dead short on that line.

This is exactly what happened to mine and the battery cable was the issue. The cables seemed to be tight but my battery fastener (can't remember the exact name at the moment) was loose and the batter shifted periodically moving the battery cable cutting out the electrical.
