oil analysis is it worth it?

I have never done one, some folks swear by them... I believe they are sold as kits and who ever you buy the kit from will do the analysis....I think I head of Blackstone labs....
I searched Amazon and they have a few kits listed, you might read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect...
looks like the kits are less than $20 but I don't know if that includes the analysis..
If you follow through with one please do follow up in the forum with your results and findings

I looked up Blackstone Labs, they will send you the kit for free, the analysis is $25...

Finding a problem could be a waste of time and $$
2013 2LT Equinox I4 AWD
There have been 5 used oil analyses done within the past year.
They come back with fuel in the oil as high as 4.3%.
The dealer has replaced the high pressure fuel pump but the condition remains.
Dealer claims his hands are tied now that the pump was replaced and he cannot pursue the matter any further.
Contacting GM Customer Care has been fruitless. They contact the dealer who tells them that all is fine with the engine, no problems have been diagnosed.
It's a vicious circle. And I'm left with an engine that is experiencing premature wear every time it's started.
So, you decide if you want to know what's going on inside the engine because you may be facing the same brick wall that I ran up against if you get a negative report from the analysis.
The oil has been changed at least 6 times in the past year, 16,000 miles, just because of the fuel in the oil.
There have been 5 used oil analyses done within the past year.
They come back with fuel in the oil as high as 4.3%.

I just received my two kits from Blackstone. I have yet to fill them yet, wanted to see what they had to say about our 2002 Minivan with 130k miles on it...its in good shape and running order, just wanted to see if what the report says so I can better understand what kind of life expectancy it may still have...
I may or may not do the other one for my 07 Tahoe...

any fuel trim balance dtc setting? if yes, I would bet you need a bank of injectors.
Perhaps they will be a little more enthusiastic and knowledgable.
It could be that the seal on the pump was damaged during installation.
Or, the seal is not the improved one.
Maybe it is an injector leaking. Hope rides with this appointment.
