purchased a code reader , says no power to ecm , could this be a fuse ? or a new computer is needed ..even went to auto store and they checked also , said it could be a bad wire ????

When this happens it is usually the fuse for the cigarette lighter. This fuse feeds the OBDII connector in the truck.

Wow! Wiring the OBDII unit via the accessory plug? Way to go, General Motors. :-(

its actually a good idea. when the scan tool won't power up, you can quickly check the lighter socket as its close to the dlc connector plug in.
