2007 Tahoe - FM Radio Reception SUDDENLY stinks
Well isn't this interesting? What year is your Tahoe and where are you located? I had mine checked out at the dealer and OF COURSE, they found no fault codes, etc..... so now what? You'd think Chevy themselves would get involved - there is NOTHING else wrong with the radio. My DVD & CD work great. NOTE - the NO radio and no SOUND with the turn signals hasn't happened again since the weather cooled off here. I only have 66K miles on my Tahoe - and with the Bose speakers, having a crappy FM radio really stinks.
I am having the same problem! Obviously it a poor design or manufacturing issue. I purchased a 2012 suburban a few weeks ago.
The radio was working fine at first. Now I can't even get the stations that I usually listen to. No work was done to have caused it to change.
And like the other person stated, I am not about to go to the dealer for a fix. You get charged for sneezing and then after a week or so, the work does get done (not to mention the bill they stick you with). I am all for buying American.
I just wish the American industries were more concerned about delivering quality products instead of always sticking to the working people that are making them rich.

I thought I noticed this phenomenon with newer cars as well, but then thought maybe it's not the FM.
Maybe, like power windows, you don't know what you've got till it's gone...
I bought lifetime XM in my 09 Tahoe, after having SIRIUS in my last Tahoe for years.
I drove a car without XM, and had to put up with FM...
OMG I wanted to literally murder people. Nothing but static, commercials, idiotic DJs, etc etc.
How does ANYONE listen to FM?
I thought it used to be better as well, and that newer cars were worse at FM, but I'm starting to think the reality is we have Pandora, Bluetooth Streaming, XM, youtube, etc etc, and FM hasn't gotten worse... it just hasn't gotten any better.

I suddenly had the same problem. Reception in and out, high frequency sounds, etc. Recently, my aux ports kept blowing fuses, I guess from more and more modern technology that requires constant charging. I upped the fuse from 20amp to 25 amp and no more power problems. But that's when the radio acted up. Took me a while to make the connection. Every time a charger is plugged in, poor radio and if a device is actually charging on the charger....even worse radio. I unplugged all adapters and went back to 20 amp. No more radio issues. I guess I will have to deal with replacing the blown fuses as they happen.
I know this is an old thread, but it's the first one that pops up on Google when I put in Tahoe in Tenna issues. So I thought I would publish my findings for my 2007 Tahoe. When I use the 1/8 inch auxiliary input ( headphones) port, then turn off my vehicle with the headphones cable plugged in, then restart my vehicle, at that point my FM reception is horrible. what I have to do is plug the headphone cable back into the ox port, allow the ox port to power up and play through the speakers, then remove the A/UX cable from the port on the radio. It seems like when I do this FM reception comes back to life!
Well I have a new twist, 2005 Tahoe LT, when the lights come manually or automatically I get a static on 106.1FM(only) turn the lights off static goes away. I haven't done any work on the lights lately. Any ideas how to fix the issue.
