Default IR Receiver

can anyone tell me where the fuse is for the IR Receiver

1. Key fobs don’t work and won’t reprogram. I bought two new fobs and they won’t program either

2. Service tire monitor warning is on
both happened at the same time

I am assuming that the IR receiver has gone bad but before replacing would like to check the fuse if I can find where it is

Many thanks in advance

Mark

Well.... there are no IR Receivers on a Tahoe. Everything you mention is RF...
I also wouldn't be sure they were related. Usually the receiver for the fobs is not the same device or frequency as TPMS. TPMS only needs a rather short range, while the Fobs need a longer range.

If I knew where the receiver was I'd tell you, but I don't. Sorry.

Knowing what model and year would help.

depends on the model and build
some models use the remote control door lock receiver or rcdlr for keyless and tpm functions. Some use the tailgate module for tpm functions.

it would be a leap to say the module has gone bad at this point...without pulling codes or any diagnostics.

The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) for the key fob is powered by the DSM fuse located in the instrument panel fuse block.
<Edit> Ignore this really bad advice!!! I was looking at the wrong schematic <Edit>

Sorry for the bad advice, I was looking at the wrong schematic.

Are you following this procedure for programming the TPMS?

1. Apply parking brake. Turn ignition to ON position (engine off)
2. Turn headlight switch from “Off” to “On” four times within 3 seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPM low tire warning light will begin to flash.
3. Starting at the LF tire increase/decrease pressure until horn sounds.
4. After horn sounds, proceed as in step 3 for the next 3 sensors in the following order : RF, RR LR.
5. After LR sensor has been learned, turn ignition to OFF position.

yes to the TPMS programming procedures and following the correct procedure for the keyless entry procedure with no response. Have to believe the two issues are connected.

Either faulty receiver or blown fuse. Wanted to check the fuse first before proceeding to the receiver
