I posted back in March looking for a solution to a dead instrument panel. I found a company in Toronto Canada named DanMax electronics 2311 Anson Dr
Malton, ON L5S 1G1 (905) 673-0090 in the airport area. They took it out ,fixed it, and re-installed for $250 in 1.5 hours.

I did find a youtube video on removing the panel but in the end DanMax did it for me.

Thats fixed, now my entire tailgate goes dead for days at a time. Its time to go back to a F150.

Default instrument cluster fix for $125

We had our instrument cluster computer display go out too! So we drove around for 6 months with no odometer, mileage display, etc after the dealership said it was unrepairable and quoted us $700 parts and labor to replace. DON'T REPLACE at the dealership. I looked and looked and finally found Atlanta Speedometer who repaired mine for $125. 4 other speedometer shops wanted $250. I called Josh at Atlanta Speedometer who told me if I could get it out and mail it to him, he'd fix and mail back. I had it back in a week! The hardest part was getting it out because there was one screw we couldn't get to but after finding a youtube video explaining this, it was out in 3 minutes. So, www.atlantaspeedometer.com and call Josh, then look up Tahoe insturment video on youtube to get instructions on removal. Good luck! Now if i can just get my dash AC vents to work again! I need a module that is apparently a little harder to replace.

There is a class action settlement on 2003-2007 for the speedometer (in particular the stepper motors that are used on all the gauges), but it may include the entire instrument cluster. If not another suit may resolve the entire instrument cluster.
I cannot read my gears or my mileage, trip gauge, etc.... Everything else seems to be working as normal.

I read post #2 and looked at the pictures, it doesn't look difficult, is there anything in particular that I should be aware of when it comes time to remove it?

I also checked out the dash sticky and wrote to the Customer Service. I am going to take care of that issue and the door handles when I get back from vacation.

Thanks for all your replies!

UPDATE: Tuesday I called my local dealership and I made an appointment for today, Friday, on a completely unrelated problem (gas pedal stuck all the way down, fully accelerated) at that point I called the number that the Chevrolet representative on here had given me and made a case about my dashboard crack, the chrome on the door handles peeling and my instrument cluster. She made a file and told me that they would replace my door handles at no charge when I dropped my Tahoe off.<O</O

When I dropped my Tahoe off this morning the Service Consultant there took note of my dashboard and instrument cluster. I left and went to work, about 10 am I received a phone call from her and she got approval to replace my dashboard and instrument cluster for a $200 deductible.

I’m still waiting to hear what happened with my gas pedal, but I’m ecstatic that my dashboard and instrument cluster is getting fixed for a very minimal cost!<O</O

Sorry, I won’t be taking my dash apart and taking pictures. <O</O

Default new to this

Ok, I have a 2007 tahoe ltz that all this IC stuff has happened to. I have mine out currently so I will attempt to get pictures posted. Mine was working fine until the dealership had to replace my dash due to a crack, which I now see has been an issue with alot of people. I took my IC out last night thinking it was a loose connection in the back. Which I now know its not.

I am seeing something about the chrome door handles peeling? I havent noticed that yet. Is chevy got to fix that? Ive been thinking about changing them to black to match my truck anyway. I have noticed that the bumpers, or what ever you call those things on the door, are fading or the paint is dulling. Anyone had that problem?

THX for the info.

welcome
take the truck back to have the dealer fix your IC since they just had it all apart.
chrome handles people are talking about are the interior ones - GM "should" replace these for free if they are peeling any at the top. the little side molding on the doors - yes mine are fading real bad on the top. been quoted anywhere from $200 - $350 to replaint and clearcoat all 4 so I will probably do that when I get the $
