Default What is this sensor?

Hi,
I'm working on the front end of my tracker, just pulled the bumper off and I see that there is something mounted in it near the passenger side. It has two vacuum lines and a three wire connector (red/black/pink). The body of it is black plastic, and there is a metal part that kind of looks like a small electric motor case but without the shaft. There are two wires from the housing to that part (green/red).
Any idea what this is? I can't seem to find it in any manual or diagram.

This is an 01 4wd model.

Thanks

Sorry, that probably would have helped.
I was originally thinking something to do with the airbag system, due to its placement up in the bumper. It seems kind of overkill though, why would vacuum lines be going to a collision sensor? Also, there are no markings or stamps in the sensor with part or manufacturer numbers. Maybe at one time on the metal part but its too rusted now to tell.

Took a couple minutes to find with Google.

It's not a vacuum line. That's your front axle actuator pump.

There's a lot of engineering stuffed into that pump assembly. Probably why it cost so much. It's amazing how much it does with only 3 wires.

Great diagram, but I wouldn't put down $250 USD on that part if I could get a good used one.

Air pumps have soft consumable parts like diaphrams, o-rings and other seals. If you buy a used one you could just end up with something that in not that much better shape than your broken one. Especially if they haven't been made for 20 years. It could just fail on first use. Especially if it's been rotting on a shelf somewhere.

The OP never said it's broken. But if it is then I would attempt to repair it first, or buying a new/reman one failing that.
