Default 2006 Suburban Electrical issue.

Dash voltage shows 9 to 10 volts, causes a bunch of idiot lights, battery light etc, gauge's die like fuel gauge(also service 4 wheel drive) Voltage measured at battery at idle 14.1 to 14.5 volts.

Sounds like you might have a wiring or grounding issue causing the low voltage, if things measure right at the battery. I would check and tighten any ground straps you can find.

Thank you, any ideas on where and how many grounds there might be?

Is that dash voltage measured with engine running (idle 14.1 to 14.5 volts) ?

Not really, but the manual for your Suburban is on Charm.li, and they list all the grounds, and there is a diagram to help find them:

https://charm.li/Chevrolet/2006/Subu...rounds%20List/

That is for the 2WD 5.3L, since I don't know which one you have.

The voltage measured at the battery with engine at idle is 14.1 to 14.5. The dash shows less then 10 volts at idle.

You might wanna check the connections at the back of the dash cluster. If something’s loose or corroded back there, it could mess with the voltage readings and make the gauges act up.

I’ve had similar electrical issues before, and sometimes it’s just one of those things where you’ve gotta call in a pro if you can’t figure it out yourself. It’s super frustrating to chase down every little wire or connection. If you’re in the area, https://kanatautilitiesltd.ca/ could be worth a look—they’re good with this kind of stuff. I’d definitely start with the grounds and connections, though.
