Default Nav Install

Hey Guys! This is my first post on this forum. I just got done (thanks to this thread) with installing an OEM Nav unit into my 08 GMC Sierra. It has Nav, DVD and Rear back up Camera with Bose. Install went great. However, My Nav doesn't work. It like it's not reading the signal coming from the attena. WTF? The Unit turns on on shows a map of Washington DC. I live in Seattle Washington I bought the an unlocked unit so that I wouldn't have to take in the my dealer. Please tell me that I don't have to deal with those Idiots.

All the documentation that came with the unit said nothing about this wire. Simply plug and play. I've read some posts on here concerning this issue. What do I need to do and where do I get the parts? Thank you.

There is info in the forums about this.....

I will say the it goes into the brown connector, pin 5
and it needs to be connected to the back of the junction block under the left side of the dash.....you're looking for a grren\white wire

You cannot just "add" the bose amp. There is too much wiring involved to make it worth it. the easiest way around it would be to add an aftermarket 4 channel amplifier. Without the amp, your audio will be very low.

You don't NEED the Onstar connector. what won't work is the voice recognition. what you do need is the VSS. without it, the voice guidance, mapping, and re-routing will not work
